Great and relaxing atmosphere to share cocktails with my hubby. We could actually hear each other vs. going to a loud bar. We will be back again. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE PASSWORD for the NIGHT you are attending, or you will not be let in. Sshhh.

As I was waiting for someone to answer the door 2 girls had mentioned the other speakeasy was better so I knew I was not expecting much and that what I experienced . Probably the least favorite speak easy I’ve been to out of about 5 in Florida . A speakeasy should be about mingling , atmosphere , music and some unique cocktails . There is no bar that I know of as there is only assigned seating . Single people go to bars to meet people and socialize . Not an option here that I know of or was offered . The cocktails have great names but the complexity is very basic . My garnish had a small feather which I could have easy swallowed and had an issue . A garnish should be totally edible . I had 1 $16 whisky based cocktail that was not worth the price so I left to explore other options that wouldn’t involve me sitting in a corner alone browsing on my phone looking for better night life .

The employees attitude at this place does reflect that the owners want you to spend your money there.
As a business owner I would never tolerate customers being treated in such a way by employees especially in a hospitality role of the team.
The hostess opened the door , with a very rude tone yelled “we’re at capacity” and proceeded to slam the door in our face.
The fact that potential customers wait in line to be treated so poorly at the very entrance of the establishment is ridiculous.
I can only imagine the service inside does not get any better if this is acceptable to upper management.
If you would like to find out for your self I implore you to do so. I hope that service and hospitality improves as a result of this review before you go. I’ve been left with an extremely poor first impression as an excited potential customer and Ocala resident.

What a fun and exciting little speakeasy! The ambience really made you feel like you were back in the prohibition era during the 1920s. You’ll need a password to enter, and if you don’t have the correct one, you’ll definitely be turned away. Overall the prices are great; the drinks are superb, so do yourself a favor and have this experience.

We came downtown to celebrate a special birthday, starting at Ivy’s for dinner
& looked so forward to going to The Thirsty Cobbler after. We have been to The Thirsty Cobbler about 5 times previously over the past 3 years. Each time previously the same two men worked there, one as the bar tender, one as the waiter. Each time the bar tender made your drinks meticulously crafted w special garnishes & the waiter served them w charm & friendliness, making us feel very welcome and setting the scene for a pleasurable evening while engaging with you. Tonight, unfortunately that was not our experience w the 2 new girls working, replacing the men.
The waitress was very unwelcoming and snippy, she would not allow us to go into the main room, just to look at the bar area and the room and shused us back to the center room and told us we need to remain seated, so others can get in. Well, at that time of the reprimanding, no one was trying to come in to that room. Only 3 women were seated in the corner. Also, the female bartender hid away from the bar area while we tried to take a picture…which seemed odd and unwelcoming. We then sat down in our chair and ordered our drinks. Both drinks were served w no garnishes, which from prior experiences, the drinks were meticulously made w garnishes
, dried sweet orange slices, cherries, sugared sticks and sage sticks. When we complained the waitress said, the reason for no garnishes is that the bartender was too busy! Nevertheless,, she did take the drinks back to be garnished, & my husband got a stick of wood in his and I got some raw blueberry and a sage stick. Nothing like the garnishes prior visits. Again,I tried to get out of my seat to peak in the main room and again was shooed back to my seat as I was just commenting to the waitress I only wanted to get a picture of the decorations.
Never have we ever been treated so disrespectfully, and our entire experience was ruined by your new employees. Please bring back the old employees who made the experience lovely.
